Our Story
MaKayla and Andres’ journey together began unexpectedly with a swipe on Bumble, igniting a connection that quickly grew into something special. After weeks of heartfelt conversations, the two finally met in person for their first date at a pinball arcade. As the night went on, it felt like the two had known each other for a lifetime. Andres asked MaKayla to be his girlfriend that same night, marking the start of a beautiful chapter in their lives. Just a month later, MaKayla was sharing dinner with his parents, feeling welcomed into his world with open arms. In another whirlwind month, he ventured to Illinois to meet her family where the two spent time eating dinner at one of their favorite restaurants, Tiramisu, and fell in love under the twinkle of Christmas lights in Washington Park.
Since those memorable beginnings, their journey has been marked by cherished moments of togetherness amidst life's fast pace. Despite MaKayla's dedication to her studies and Andres' busy work schedule, they made every effort to steal precious moments together, even if it meant traveling to see each other for a short time. Despite the physical distance that sometimes separated them, their bond remained unshakable, growing even stronger as MaKayla embarked on her studies abroad in Uganda. Through the trials of distance, their love persevered. Together, they’ve been fortunate to explore various corners of the states, from the lively streets of Seattle to the quaint charm of Boston and the dynamic energy of Chicago.
When MaKayla departed for Uganda after her graduation, Andres seized the opportunity to purchase the ring. With her family by her side to assist with her move for her post-college life, Andres carefully orchestrated the perfect timing to propose. As the summer sun began to set along the calm waters of the intercoastal, Andres dropped to one knee with their parents in their company. It was a proposal that encapsulated their journey together, a beautiful promise of the adventures to come in their shared future.
